George Bezak

 

  

Rated polo player, instructor and coach.  George has been involved in the sport of polo for 20 years playing throughout Ontario, Quebec and Northeastern United States.  He began his career playing with the founding members of the Ottawa Polo Club and in 1998 established the Augusta Polo Club south of Ottawa.  Since then he has taught the sport to a wide variety of polo enthusiasts including non riders, young children, adults and seniors.  In 2008 he established and coached the first woman’s intercollegiate polo team in Canadian history at the University of Guelph, Kemptville Campus.  The following year he established the first men’s intercollegiate polo team in Canadian history.  Both teams are currently competing in the United States Polo Association intercollegiate program.

    Laura Wilson

 

Laura Willson started playing polo at an early age in Indio, California and has travelled throughout the world to expand her polo education.  Initially working at the Calgary Polo Club she then headed to Argentina working and playing in a number of tournaments all before the age of 18 From there she played the next few seasons in California and Alberta where she got her first polo award for "Rookie of the Year".   She was then offered the opportunity to play in Wellington, Florida and has spent the past 5 years travelling from Florida to Canada, Argentina, Uruguay and various places in the United States. During that time, she played at the International Polo Club in the 8 goal President Cup Finals, 10- 12 goal Polo in Boca Raton, Miami Beach Polo, ladies tournaments and a variety of different tournaments and levels of Polo. She also buys, sells and manages her own string of horses, as well as teaches and provides full polo services. Recently, she has been training out of her farm Oxford Ridge Stables in Oxford Mills, Ontario and teaches at the Ottawa Polo Club and Huntingford Farm while participating at a number of local polo clubs in the Ottawa, Toronto area.
